Hola! Thanks for stopping by! Would love to see you again sometime. Why not subscribe?RSS feed.
Hi everyone!
Thank you for reading Little Colombia Observationist over the last 6 months. It’s had a brilliant response.
I came back to New York yesterday and will be here until January when I go back to Colombia again on a different (longer) visa. During the next four months, the blog will be on hold. I’d be interested in hearing from anyone who is interested in contributing either in the form of an interview or guest post in order to build up content for the new year. If you are, just email me at stephanie.sadler@hotmail.com
Continue to add your photos to the Flickr pool as well.
One of the reasons I came back to New York is to promote Made in Mogotes and find contacts to work with in the States. I finalized all of the papers to officially start this business making jewelry from guadua and working with local artisans in the small village of Mogotes to promote their crafts (and my own) abroad. A few of the women I work with there will make customized fique bags and other fun things, so think Christmas gifts and show some support for the local crafters in Mogotes if you enjoy reading LCO
The shop is in the link above.
In the meantime, I will be keeping up with my other blog – Little Observationist Scrapbook – so stop in and follow me there until I come back here to continue Little Colombia Observationist sometime in January!
Hasta Luego!

Awww!!! I was hooked on your blogs already.
Best of luck to you, I’m moving back to Bogota next week. I’ll look forward to visit Mogotes. I was really interested in the guadua as a material.
Take care, and see you soon (4 months will fly by so quickly)
Aw, thanks Andres
Good luck with the move to Bogota. Definitely give me a shout if you do make it out to Mogotes. It’s always nice to meet new people and of course be able to speak English with someone when I’m there since no one inn the village other than my boyfriend does!!
Aww man, I was also hooked onto this site. I first came on because of the fruit travel series you had and I was intrigued on those fruits and I desired to have them again. I went to Colombia this year on June 30th (My parents are Colombian) from NYC (JFK)to Bogota, Villavicencio/Aguamal, Cucuta and last but not least to Bucuramanga (Where I ate some hormigas culonas
) I can’t wait for this blog to get back and running because I love the ideas and vision/expansion you have for this site. Thank You and I will wait even though my impatient 15 year old brain might not let me.
Haha : ) Thanks Andres. I’m glad you enjoy the site. Always good to hear. If you’re up for sharing some photos or a little guest post about your trip, I’d love to post it in January. Think about it! Glad you got to eat some ants :p
