Columnist: Julián Esteban Torres López
Writer and journalist Julián Esteban Torres López entertains and educates us with his column titled The Secret Life of a Colombian Pseudonym. For good measure, he throws in lots of photos and videos.
A bit of background for you: He has a BA in Philosophy, BA in Communication, and MA in Justice Studies from the University of New Hampshire. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the University of British Columbia Okanagan concentrating on Political Science and Latin American Studies. A Medellín native, he is presently working on his dissertation, which focuses on trying to find feasible paths for political conflict resolution in Colombia. He doesn’t like pickles, squash, or when mango strings get stuck between his teeth.
Julián and his many hats are omnipresent.
You can stalk him on Twitter and Facebook, fall asleep to his voice at night on Soundcloud where he has just released his first album titled Sfumato: A Decade of Spoken Word, Act 1. In fact, Little Colombia Observationist had the pleasure of being the first to interview him about the album, so be sure to check that out. And if that’s not enough Julián for you, there’s always his Youtube channel, his column on Colombia Reports, his online business card and of course, you can always find him right here on The Secret Life of a Colombian Pseudonym – where he and his pseudonym, Lázaro Rojas, team up to tell fictionally factual and factually fictional stories about Colombia and being Colombian in an age when telling the difference between reality and delusion is frighteningly labyrinthine. Stay tuned.
